Supply chain operations worldwide are upgrading existing automation or adding mobile robots to keep up with accelerating demand, particularly in e-commerce order fulfillment. Kivnon Logistics S.L. last week announced a limited-time discount to encourage its customers to swap systems.
The Barcelona, Spain-based company said it has been designing, developing, manufacturing, and distributing automatic guided vehicles (AGVs) and related products for 10 years. Kivnon claimed that the promotion is intended to help companies “in their transformation towards Industry 4.0.”
“Kivnon” is named after the Greek word for “movement.” In 2014, the privately funded company introduced what it claimed were the first bi-directional AGVs for the pharmaceuticals industry. Its customers include Johnson Controls, Ford Almussafes in Spain, Renault, and Nissan.
Trade-ins receive 40% discount
The company said it is offering up to a 40% discount on the official sales price when trading in an AGV of any brand for a new Kivnon AGV or an autonomous mobile robot (AMR). To take advantage of the discount, which expires Dec. 31, 2020, customers must deliver the old AGVs when purchasing a new vehicle.
“With this initiative, the Kivnon group aims to facilitate the renewal and acquisition of self-guided vehicles,” it said. “At Kivnon, we have a wide range of self-guided industrial vehicles for the transport of all kinds of goods and that are capable of moving loads of up to 6,000 kg [13,227 lb.] using magnetic navigation or mapping technologies that allow them to adapt to any industrial environment and production process.”
Kivnon offers mobile robot support
The company added that its AGVs have been designed to be user-friendly, simple to install, and intuitive to operate. Its technical support service can advise and train logistics customers on how to use its AGVs or AMRs.
