Mon, 23 Jan 2023 01:46:37 +0000https://www.therobotreport.com/?p=564827#comment-170999Hti Peepz…I’m sorry, but I am a real tech fan. I love what u guyz at Boston are tryna do for us 4 the future generations. Its quite cool and verylpful in many a work and play environments in this day and age…
I also am very weary about total world takeover by these so called ” Assistants” of yours. They have taken over all our lives but we are so dumb struck by the most common robots/ ANDROID’s, our PHONES- PEOPLE… OUR- PHONES…
So many people out there dont even know what it means to have an android phone. They dont know what are all those permissions are that they have granted the AI system in their phones… U have given ” IT” access to our most personal data that we cant keep in our heads all the time… The next time your phone does sumthing faulty, remember, IT asked you first already, and you said ” YES-YES- YES”…

Once the cut out the floor route and teach the AI that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line that doesn’t include a fancy dance… then maybe we’ll have some competition. Until then I wouldn’t let one of these things NEAR a site.

Fri, 20 Jan 2023 23:17:13 +0000https://www.therobotreport.com/?p=564827#comment-170850I sat in the audience in Philadelphia PA as Gary Kasparov was defeated by Deep Blue from IBM. If memory serves correctly Kasparov beat the first couple games and then was trounced in the rest after the Deep Blue team “tweaked” the program that they were using. Kasparov was not happy when the tweak happened he said that he was not playing the same opponent. When I saw this I knew that the writing was on the wall. Deep Blue did not succeed in the ways that I thought it would- IBM probably had more important things to do. I live in an area full of distribution centers. I believe that within the next decade or so robots like these will be able to do jobs in these warehouse that are now done by humans. The technology is moving so quickly that I can envision AI physicians that can be summoned up via a web browser. Boston Dynamics will produce the workers of the future – they might have a high initial cost per unit, but the don’t take breaks, don’t need water fountains and never get sick. This is frightening and exciting to me at the same time.

David, while many share that same sentiment, I can tell you Atlas isn’t CGI. I saw an in-person demo of Atlas’ parkour routine a few months ago. Hard to believe it’s real because it’s so far ahead of other humanoids, but it is indeed real.
